How the electrical fixture assessment was handled

From the truck, electrical fixture assessment in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County is a sequence: stabilize, correct structure or hardware, then prove the close with photos.

  1. Inspect the existing box

Look for damage, overfill, and whether the device is a simple replacement.

  2. Eligible like-for-like

Swap the device or fixture only when the written scope and box condition allow.

  3. Licensed referral

Stop when the work would be a new circuit, a remodel, or a code correction beyond handyman closeout.

  4. Test and photograph

Confirm the device behaves and leave photos for the owner.

Why this fails in Pinellas County

Outdoor and garage devices corrode faster near the coast. A tan outlet is often a failed device, not a dirty cover.

After the crew leaves

If a breaker trips after the visit, stop using that circuit and call. That is licensed-electrician territory.
